Juvederm® Ultra/Ultra Plus XC

Book Your medical consultation

Juvéderm Ultra XC and Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC are hyaluronic acid dermal fillers used to soften selected facial wrinkles and folds in appropriate candidates.

At Vitalé in Manasquan, NJ, Juvéderm treatment begins with a provider-led consultation. Your injector will assess your facial anatomy, skin quality, treatment goals, medical history, and risk factors before deciding whether Juvéderm or another filler option may be appropriate.

Juvéderm Ultra XC is FDA-approved for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. It is also approved for lip and perioral augmentation in adults over 21. Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC is FDA-approved for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds.

Other treatment areas may be considered off-label and will be discussed during consultation.

How Do Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus Work?

Juvéderm Ultra XC and Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC are injectable hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in the body that helps support hydration and volume in the skin.

When placed by a trained provider, these fillers can add temporary volume and soften selected wrinkles or folds. Product choice, placement, and amount depend on your anatomy, treatment area, skin quality, and goals.

Juvéderm Ultra XC and Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC are not interchangeable with every filler in the Juvéderm collection. Each product has its own approved uses, texture, placement considerations, and risk profile.

Your provider will explain which product is being considered, whether the treatment area is FDA-approved or off-label, and what alternatives may be appropriate.

What is the Treatment Session Like?

A Juvéderm treatment session begins with a review of the treatment plan and consent. Your provider will cleanse the treatment area and may use topical numbing or other comfort measures when appropriate.

The filler is then placed using a needle or cannula, depending on the area, anatomy, and provider technique. The number of injections and amount of product used vary by patient.

You may feel pressure, pinching, or brief discomfort during injection. Swelling, redness, tenderness, bruising, or firmness can occur afterward.

Treatment is usually completed during an office visit, but the exact timing depends on the number of areas being treated.

Am I a Candidate for Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus?

You may be a candidate for Juvéderm Ultra XC or Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC if you are an adult seeking correction of selected facial wrinkles, folds, or volume-related concerns and your provider determines that filler treatment is appropriate.

Juvéderm treatment may not be suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active infection near the treatment area, have a history of severe allergies or anaphylaxis, are allergic to lidocaine or hyaluronic acid fillers, or have certain bleeding, immune, or skin conditions.

Your provider will also review prior filler treatments, medical conditions, current medications, supplements, and any history of cold sores or inflammatory skin conditions before making a recommendation.

A consultation does not guarantee that Juvéderm is the right option for you.
