    Guide:

If you’ve been considering cosmetic treatments to make your face look younger, you might have heard of one called a PRP facial. This treatment uses the anti-aging properties of platelet-rich protein and other techniques to tighten, smooth, and improve skin tone. Here at Vitalé in Manasquan, NJ, we offer this treatment to our patients. Schedule your consultation today to find out how we can help you regain soft, youthful skin.

What Is a PRP Facial Treatment?

The Anti-Aging Properties of Your Blood

A platelet-rich plasma facial, or PRP, is technically considered a medical procedure rather than a cosmetic treatment since we use your own blood for the process. The platelet-rich plasma comes right from the blood and is then administered to your skin.

To begin, we take a small sample of your blood. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge device (think of that ride at the carnival where you’re stuck to the wall and the floor drops out), which then effectively separates the plasma and platelets from the rest of your blood. The two are then combined, which creates the platelet-rich protein that we use for your facial.

Most of our patients see some immediate results, but it takes anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to see the final results. It takes this
